Jesper Olsen suffers brain haemorrhage

LONDON (Reuters) - Former Manchester United winger Jesper Olsen is undergoing tests in a Melbourne hospital after suffering a brain haemorrhage, the club's Web site reported on Tuesday. Olsen, who lives in Australia, spent five years at Old Trafford between 1984-89. The 45-year-old Dane, made 175 appearances for United, scoring 24 goals, and was part of the 1985 FA Cup-winning side under Ron Atkinson. A statement from Olsen's company, Proactive Sports Management Australia, said: "He remains under observation and will undergo further tests. His family strongly request that their privacy be respected at this time."

He was in the United team when I first started watching football. A quick, nippy player, Jesper was well-loved by fans in a time when there were not too many foreigners in English football.

PSV Eye Ruud Return

Ruud van Nistelrooy could be on his way back to PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch champions have made an initial offer of £5million for their former striker though Manchester United want to hold out for £8m. Van Nistelrooy, 29, is resigned to leaving the club and United are ready to sell. He has fallen out of favour with manager Alex Ferguson who was furious with his top scorer on Monday evening when he missed a penalty against Middlesbrough.
Neil Custis, The Sun

Frankly, I think that is just a load of bullshit. Why would Ruud go to PSV when he was reportedly linked to clubs like Chelsea and Madrid. And for a mere £8million?? That is just absurd. Who else can Man Utd find to replace Ruud now at the moment? With £8million they would be lucky to find themselves a half decent striker.

United Eye £10m Carrick
Alex Ferguson will launch a £10million bid for Michael Carrick — and Tottenham fear their midfield star wants to leave. Manchester United boss Fergie has targeted the Geordie playmaker as the man he wants to anchor his midfield. And anxious Spurs are already in the market for replacements, with Carrick, 24, reluctant to open talks about a new contract at White Hart Lane. Fergie hopes to recruit two top central midfielders this summer and wants AC Milan’s Rino Gattuso to replace Roy Keane as a ball-winner. Mahamadou Diarra was a target, but Lyon priced him out of the market with a £28m tag.

Eidur Wants To Be A Red
Chelsea's out- of-favour striker Eidur Gudjohnsen wants to come to United. It is understood that Gudjohnsen has held informal talks over his future at Stamford Bridge and the two parties are due to sit down again in the next fortnight. Tottenham are being linked with the striker as well but United would be his choice of future employer. Gudjohnsen is frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunity and the Reds will be monitoring the situation. 27-year-old Gudjohnsen could be prised from Chelsea for about £4m, leaving more money for Ferguson to bolster his engine room.

If Man Utd can get any of the 3 players they are reportedly interested in, it would definitely represent an improvement to the current team.

Materazzi, not only dirty but stupid

Materazzi scoring an amazing own goal in the 91st minute from inside the halfway line in Inter's recent match against Empoli.

The clips are not so clear,so,you would need to replay the clips a few times to truly appreciate his stupidity.
