Bridge over troubled water ?

Many newspapers lately have been suggesting that things may not be going as smoothly as Chelsea would have wanted.
First things first, Chelsea will win the English Premier League this year. United has done a great job with its recent run of many, many consecutive victories, but somehow I feel that United has run out of games to catch up.
Personally I cannot see Chelsea losing 3 games out of the next 6 to hand the title to United. It will be close but in the end, Chelsea's run in the beginning of the season and over Christmas has won them the title.

Still there are things going on at the Bridge now that could indicate a change next season at Chelsea FC.

7 Aspects as to where Chelsea are losing it..

Style of play
Even at their best, they are effective rather than exciting.Built on a sound defence with a ball-winner like Makelele and wingers like Duff and Robben, the Blues are at their best counter-attacking but without a natural playmaker, they have found even weak teams difficult to break down.

Style of business
Chelsea fiercely deny they are buying success and rightly point to Cech, Cole and Robben being bargain buys. But paying way over the top for Essien, Wright-Phillips and Drogba undermines their argument and their purchasing power has drastically altered the global transfer market. In other areas, their ticket pricing, virtual kidnapping of young players (John Mikel Obi) and fierce defence of the indefensible - such as the tapping up Ashley Cole saga and ending Anders Frisk career - are not exactly winning many friends in football.

Clash of egos
There are rumours of a major clash opf personalities between Mourinho, Peter Kenyon and Frnak Arnesen. They have disagreed on what direction the club should go and on which players should be signed. The lastes being Beckham - Kenyon would like him signed for the commercial reason whereas Mourinho doesn't for very obvious footballing reasons.

Lack of lustre
Chelsea's best players are workhorses - Terry, Lampard, Makelele and while Cole, Robben and Duff offer something different, they often flatter to deceive. For one reason or another, the A-list stars of world football are refusing Roman's roubles (Henry, Sheva, Trezeguet, Eto'o, Ronaldinho) - and hence there is a visible lack of stardust on Stamford Bridge.

Sore losers
Chelsea NEVER loses a game. There is always a reason why they did not win and seldom does Chelsea end a match without stirring any controversy these days - even when they win. The sight of Mourinho ranting and raving about match official, managers, opponents is getting tiresome - hardly the stuff to win over the neutrals. You never beat Chelsea it seems. You may score more goals but there is always an issue - usually a contentious decision. But no Jose, there is no conspiracy against you..

Hitmen missing
Man Utd have Rooney and van Nistelrooy, Barca have Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi, Juve have Zlatan and Trezeguet, Milan - Sheva and Gillardino even ARSEnal have Henry and Cygan.
Chelsea have Drogba and Crespo who rarely play together and when they are desperate Robert Huth (@#$%?) plays upfront. They are simply not good or committed enough to be the main hitman. It really is a surprising area to neglect when you have all that $$$.

Cunning or conning
The recent diving allegations against Didier and the fact he admitted it on national TV are relatively new. His handball against Man City and celebrating by showing his arm to the Man City supporters after scoring might not be the most ethical thing to do. Robben with his 'severe facial fracture and injury' after being touched by Liverpool keeper Reina has undermined Chelsea's morality.
However, anyone who remember Mourinho's Porto side will know how 'cunning' they were as they dived their ways to wins over Celtic and Manchester United. And let's not forget Ricardo Carvalho's wrestling-like move on Barca keeper Victor Valdes to ensure John Terry would score the winner in last years UEFA Champion's League 2nd Round.
This season Robben and Drogba have turned cunning into conning.
