Free-Kick Specialist
After seeing Juninho Pernambucano score yet another free-kick against Olympiakos, I recalled a recent article in the May 2005 edition of World Soccer. So I went looking for the magazine.
1. Juninho Pernambucano (as if you guys don't already know)
2. Ugur Yildirim (Club: Herenveen, Country: Holland)
"After all, he won the first Free Kick Master tournament in Marbella last December."
He beat Zidane although Beckham was not present. They duelled to beat Spain keeper Canizarez from 18, 21 and 25 metres.
3. Marcos Assuncao (Club: Betis, Country: Brazil)
4. Andrea Pirlo
5. Rogerio Ceni (Club: Sao Paulo, Country: Brazil)
"With 33 successful attempts, former Brazilian international Rogerio Ceni has now scored more free-kicks than any other goalkeeper in history."
6. Nastja Ceh (Club: Club Brugge, Country: Slovenia)
